My sister in law has a blog, my sister just started a blog. So I thought I would join the "in crowd". I looked up the blogger website thing, clicked start blog, and then for a template I chose the one that was named "awesome template", to make up for the lack of awesomeness that I will write. I highly doubt I will post anything on here regularly, but we will see how it goes. Wow. I feel like I have written all I wanted to say already, and I have only finished the first couple of sentences. This does not bode well :P
First before I write anything about my current life, The reason that I named the blog as such is because as a child whenever someone asked me my name, I would simply say "name's Dane" ( of course did this in an extremely cute way. Just imagine my chubby little cheeks, little smile, and childish voice... Yea, way cute:). This was apparently something that I did quite frequently, and as the only one in my family to not have a nick name that has stuck for any significant amount of time, I will use this title for the time being.
I have been busy this week, getting my work project off the ground as well as settling back into school after the break. It seems that already I have more stuff than is possible to do, but I guess that is just the nature of things. I am really excited about this project, I am amazed at how great the student volunteering has been already. I will have to re-count, but I believe we reached almost 80 volunteers (out of a class pool of about 300, that is amazing participation rate)! This gives us a very good sample size, and we will assuredly have statistically significant results. For those of you who have not yet given me the chance to blab on for EVER about this project, and don't know what it is, I am creating a lab section for biology 100. I am doing this with the hope that we will be able to implement a optional lab permanently into the bio100 program at BYU. To save you from the sure case of boredom that would result in explaining further, that is all I will say about it. Then again, you are reading this of your own free will and choice, so I actually don't feel to bad (the billions of people NOT reading this have the right idea :).
So, storle of the morie is that I have really enjoyed this first week of school so far. I am quite optimistic for the semester, it is going to be busy, but a lot of fun. I am also extremely glad for the break over Christmas. As my family is up north to Alaska, I only get the once a year privilege to return home. It was great to be able to watch my brother and sister play basketball games, actually eat food consistently, chill, play games, and see my dog :)
Well, my toes are just about recovered from the freezing they received earlier this morning during frisbee. This means that I need to get up and actually try to accomplish something today before the basketball game. Or maybe i'll procrastinate a little longer as I get something out of the fridge to eat. Yes, that is a much better plan... I mean, I deserve a break for just a little longer right?
Until next time (which in all reality is probably going to be a long, long time),
